Wafumana Projects is seeking a skilled and experienced Asphalt Paver Operator to join our road construction team on a one-month contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of asphalt paving equipment to ensure high-quality road surfacing and construction work.
  • Minimum of 3 years' proven experience operating an asphalt paver.
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving procedures, road construction methods, and site safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and follow site instructions and paving specifications.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in demanding outdoor conditions.
  • Must have valid operator certification or relevant training.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Operate asphalt paving machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Perform pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks.
  • Ensure paving operations are completed according to project specifications.
  • Monitor paving quality, thickness, and alignment during operations.
  • Report equipment defects, breakdowns, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.

ASPHALT PAVER SCREED OPERATOR (2 POSITIONS)

Wafumana Projects is looking for two experienced Asphalt Paver Screed Operators to join our road construction team on a three-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating and controlling the screed section of the asphalt paver to ensure the accurate placement, level, width, and smoothness of asphalt surfaces in accordance with project specifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Asphalt Paver Screed Operator.
  • Sound knowledge of asphalt paving operations and road construction practices.
  • Ability to set and adjust screed controls to achieve specified levels, grades, and mat thickness.
  • Understanding of quality standards and paving tolerances.
  • Physically fit and able to work in outdoor construction environments.
  • Relevant operator training or certification will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively within a paving crew.
  • Operate and control the screed section of the asphalt paver.
  • Set and maintain paving width, depth, and grade according to project requirements.
  • Monitor asphalt mat quality and make necessary adjustments during paving operations.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and report equipment defects.
  • Work closely with the Paver Operator, Site Supervisor, and paving crew to ensure efficient operations.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
